Two Lancaster men face sexual abuse charges related to child pornography, city police said Friday.
Police identified them as James Joseph Kemps, 44, and Edward Joseph White, 54, both of the 300 block of Church Street.
Over the last 27 months, city detectives, assisted by the Delaware County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, United States Postal Inspectors, state police, Philadelphia Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory and Lancaster County detectives, conducted two separate investigations targeting the possession and distribution of child pornography.
Kemps and White were arrested as a result of those investigations, police said.
Kemps was charged with one count of sexual abuse of children for alleged dissemination of child pornography and 39 counts of sexual abuse of children for alleged possession of child pornography, police said.
White was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of children for alleged possession of child pornography and a count of criminal use of communication facilities, police said.
Kemps was charged by Detective Aaron Harnish with the assistance of Detective David Weiser. White was charged by Detective Lt. Charles Schmidt.
Both were arraigned by District Judge Kelly Ballentine and released on unsecured bail.
